About the Archive

Neuro Archiver began as a personal effort due to frustration over missing or incomplete VODs on YouTube. Some streams lacked in-game audio, others weren't uploaded at all. Originally, the intent was just to fill this gap temporarily until Vedal improved the official uploads. Over time, it became a more permanent archive.

The goal is to provide the best possible viewing experience outside of watching live. That said, compromises are sometimes necessary: music might be muted, segments trimmed, or Twitch might not perform properly during the stream, resulting in minor quality issues.

You can reach me on Discord if you need anything! I'm not super active with the Archiver account and replies might take a few days, so just in case check the FAQ to save you some time.

Website

I don't have a clear goal with this site, I mostly bought the domain on a whim but I might host any cool thing I come up related to the archive, so far however I've only made it so https://narchiver.com/latest (/latest-jp also works) brings you to the newest VOD in the channel.

    Note:

These numbers are currently not accurate! There's house keeping to be done, mostly moving files to the correct directories and clean some duplicate files. I will eventually get it fixed and remove this message.

    I can't access a VOD!

For the most part, I do my best to avoid geoblocks imposed by music companies; however, if you are from Belarus or Russia, there's not much I can do currently. If you are from another country, feel free to contact me on Discord and I'll look into it, though I can't promise I'll be able to fix it.

    Where is today's VOD?

It's most likely already on the channel if there haven't been any issues. For the most part, it takes a couple of hours after the stream ends due to YouTube needing time to process the video. If it's been longer than that, I might have run into issues and had to postpone it.

Why did you stop uploading to the JP Channel?

Issues and burnout. I ran into a lot more problems when uploading to the JP channel during the subathon; videos that wouldn't finish processing, videos that would get desynced after upload, and other random YouTube issues. So, I made the decision to put it aside and focus on the main channel during the subathon and catch up during the break. The subathon, however, was a lot longer than I expected and caused me to burn out (like the year before). I was basically uploading two or three times a day, every day, and so I never went back to fix it. I do plan to catch up eventually, but I can't say when or how long until then.

Why are you not uploading Bilibili VODs?

I wanted to! I even made a channel for it: NArchiver CN. However, B2 ended up being an annoying platform to work with. You need to have an account to access 1080p and, even then, sometimes I would check the files and notice they had sent me 720p or 500p, sometimes even a mix for the same stream, so I decided to drop the idea. Is it possible in the future? Maybe, but I make no promises.

    Will you upload secretneuroaccount VODs?

No. As far as I'm concerned, that account is a testing account Vedal will use sporadically. To me, it doesn't feel right to upload short test sessions. Some people might argue that they'll become lost media, but due to my convictions, I won't upload them unless given explicit permission.

Why didn't you upload Neuro's appearance in [other streamer channel]?

I made an early decision that I wouldn't upload other streamers' content. Not all of them have the same rules in their community; some might not care, some might have their official VOD channel, or whatever the case, so I only upload content from Vedal's official channels.

Your channel is missing early VODs!

Indeed, I'm missing a big chunk from before I decided to start the channel, but there's nothing I can do about that. I could upload all the older VODs, but they'd be sourced from the official VOD channel or other fan archives. In any case, it doesn't feel right to reupload content that's already available.

I'd like a copy of your archive, where can I get it?

As it currently stands, nowhere. I don't have a way to make so much data publicly available. As you can check in the stats tab, it's a lot of data. I might upload archives to the Internet Archive in the future, but it's not a priority for me currently. Your best bet is to use tools like yt-dlp or any other video downloader to take them off YouTube. However, if you are interested in something in particular, like a karaoke VOD that got some sections muted, feel free to DM me on Discord and I will see about sending you a copy of the original file.
